Things To Do This Month: The Bakery’s Monthly Programming

Are you looking for art and community focused events in Atlanta?

The Bakery Atlanta hosts and produces experiences to explore art and creativity while meeting other artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs in the community.

However you’re wanting to engage with creativity and community this month, we probably have something to fit the vibe.

FIGURE DRAWING

Figure drawing sessions are approximately 2 hours and cover around 6 poses. Artists of all skill levels are welcome and must bring their own materials. The sessions are intimate with 8 to 15 artists drawing at their own pace.

Models will be mostly or entirely nude with a range of body types. Occasionally, figure drawing nights are themed. In May, we hosted a fantasy themed session featuring a model clad in fairy outfit.

Tickets are $15. Find this month’s event date here.

Perfect for: Artists and dabblers looking to practice, hone skills and spend two uninterrupted, dedicated hours with their work.

COLLAGE NIGHT

Monthly collage nights are an opportunity to craft and with old and new friends. Each month, attendees create collages around a theme. The April theme was collaged buttons. In June, artist Megan Watters led a self-portrait collage workshop for the night.

The Bakery provides the supplies. The attendees bring their creativity. Tickets are donation-based between $5-$10. Find this month’s event date here.

Perfect for: Crafting, exploring creativity through a flexible medium, and meeting new friends with music and drinks.

CHIT CHAT CLUB

Chit Chat Club is a monthly networking series for Atlanta creatives hosted by The Bakery. Each event features presentation topics, activities, and a rotating food pop-up. The Bakery partners with local venues, artists, and food vendors to present a unique experience every month.

The monthly topics are varied ranging from  “Nobody's Perfect: How Hannah Montana Shifted my Paradigm” to “History of Valentine’s Day and Card Exchange.” Chit Chat Club provides the opportunity for attendees to explore new spaces while delving into other creatives’ interest and super fun hyper-fixations.

Tickets are donation-based between $5- 10. Find this month’s event date here.

Perfect for: Those looking to explore new spaces and ideas and meet other creatives in the community.

DECONSTRUCT AND ASSEMBLE

Deconstruct and Reassemble is a monthly literary open mic night hosted by The Bakery and poet Hunter Hall. The event is structured to be a causal and open space to share writing of all genres – from personal essays to poetic Letterbox’d reviews.

It provides an opportunity for new and practiced artists to try out new work in front of a crowd, bounce ideas  and make mistakes in an intimate and vulnerable environment. For those who don’t have work to share, observers and supporters are welcome. Dedicated feedback and workshopping time is included.

This is a free event with drinks available for purchase. Find this month’s event date here.

Perfect for: Those looking to share works-in-progress or completed works, immerse themselves in other artists’ words, and meet new writers and artists.
