The Bakery at Atlanta Contemporary’s Art Party

The Bakery continued its cherished tradition of attending Atlanta Contemporary’s Art Party this year.

The 2024 theme was Real Atlanta and looked to highlight the creative spirit of Atlanta. It featured 50 visual, performance and installation artists presenting work across the campus, which was transformed for the night.

Attendees strolled through the campus, meandering in and out of activations in the main galleries, special performances in the pavilions, and through the normally closed studios of artists participating in Atlanta Contemporary’s Studio Artist Program.

The event opened Thirty Summers, a summer group exhibition showcasing 30 artists and their exploration of what it means to live in Atlanta right now. It featured work in several mediums from artists in different stages of their careers.

Other exhibition features included Chloe Alexander, Tim Youd, Mary Stanley Studio, Masela Nkolo and Articulate ATL.

Art Party is an annual fundraising event that supports Atlanta Contemporary’s mission to remain a free admission space and increase accessibility to art in the Atlanta metro. Before it became a leading contemporary art center, Atlanta Contemporary was a grassroots artists’ cooperative. Now it hosts exhibitions, programming and showcases over 200 artists yearly. Their Studio Artist program provides 13 on-side subsidized studio space to working artists.
