Come out for some beautiful Black Queer Films straight from that FLAWDA Water thanks to filmmaker and curator @lifeofpeacebe and @sweetteaandcinemaFLAWDA Water is a collection of original short films by some very talented Black, Floridian filmmakers hailing from Jacksonville to Miami. Florida is home to lively communities and rich stories that deserve to make their way to the big screen via audience-supported, indie filmmaking so we are excited to add these films to our programming. Follow Sol Underground online for a full film list announcement.
Mic Check
Do you need a safe space where you need to unwind after a long week of dealing with unnecessary and probably necessary bullsh*t? Well Two Poets and a Mic will provide the atmosphere where you can show up, be yourself, feel safe, and be shown a healthy love.
Join us on November 11th from 7-10 pm to watch these two poets perform some of their newest poems while hosting a healthy, but open and honest discussion about what it looks like to lose yourself in relationships and how to begin to show up for yourself again.
This event is a poetry reading, but it will be a hands on experience as we include the audience in our conversation, activities, and provide an opportunity for readers to ask any questions about our books that they may have. We will have snacks and drinks available for our guests. All we ask is for you to bring yourselves, bring a buddy, and a positive attitude to the venue!
RITUAL: A HALLOWEEN EXPERIENCE BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE BAKERY & RENDER
In essence, every ritual symbolizes creation. While being closely bound with the rhythm of the astral movements, at the same time, every ritual is a meeting, a confluence of forces and patterns. The significance of rituals stems from the accumulated power of these forces when merged, harmoniously, one with the other.
The Bakery and Render have joined forces with South River Art Studios to bring you THE Halloween event of 2022. Featuring a diverse array of programming including live music, DJs, Art/Video Installations, Food Trucks, and much more, this Halloween it’s more than a party, It’s a RITUAL.
DJs: Jimmy Edgar, Stefan Ringer, Render Residents
LIVE SETS: Greenscreen, Pandemia, Moth Sweat, Travis Murphy, TWYN, TWINS, Reverence, Krystal V, Sister Sai

Rage Becomes Her
Saturday, September 10th @ 12pm - 6pm
Sunday, September 11th @ 11am - 4pm
The Bakery Atlanta is proud to present the official announcement for Rage Becomes Her.
Curated by Bakery team members @pasteldeer and @toolshedbaby, 'Rage Becomes Her' is a two-day exhibition taking place on September 10th from 12-6pm and 11th from 11am-4pm that aims to highlight emotions that women, gender non-conforming, and trans folks are shamed for feeling due to their identity. We are often told that our anger is irrational, we are overly emotional, and taught from a young age that expression of our feelings will be used negatively against us. 'Rage Becomes Her' aims to validate, uplift, and celebrate the feelings we are told to ignore and get over.
With over 60+ artists, live entertainment, a market area, and sponsorship from Topo Chico this show will be one you won’t forget anytime soon.
This show will also serve as fundraiser for Free99Fridge. A portion of all work sold will be used to create hygiene packs and supply food to community fridges. Stay tuned this week as we announce vendors & artists! Make sure you come out and support. We can’t wait to see you there!

Home Is Falling Apart & It's Not Our Fault
The Bakery Atlanta Presents, “Home is Falling Apart & it’s Not Our Fault.” A solo exhibition featuring the work by local Atlanta artist Clovis Goss.
https://society6.com/clovisdesigns / @artbydtaurus
“Home is Falling Apart, and It’s Not Our Fault is a show exploring three generations of a southern rural family through the lens of the most recent generation looking back on how family changes, how the idea of home falls apart, & how the memories of home slip away unnoticed over time. Blending & breathing new life into family photos from rural South Georgia with warping views of Atlanta scenery to capture the confines of a rural landscape in a new queer age, this show aims to make audiences question what home is, how it decays as we grow, & how it can be re-invented without wiping away those that have come before.”
The opening will take place on August 27th from 12-4pm with gallery hours on August 28th from 2-4pm. Punk Petals ATL (@ydna.tl ) will also be popping up to sell some beautiful floral arrangements. Ya’ll do not want to miss this!
Saturday, August 27th @ 12pm - 4pm
