Erin Bassett: Palace of the Mind

Palace of the Mind is Erin Bassett’s second solo exhibition featuring large-scale paintings and sculptures. Opening reception will be Saturday, September 23rd from 7-10pm at Eyedrum and will be on display till October 21st. Opening night will include a DJ set by former Atlantan Osagie, vegan food catered by Hodan’s La Cuisine and a zine release. The closing reception will include an artist talk and a special performance.

Erin Bassett’s work explores the relationship between thought, memory and identity as they are internally and externally realized and the boundaries they create. Bassett has been active in the Atlanta art scene for many years through her involvement in the art collective Plastic Aztecs and has been featured in  exhibitions at Beep Beep (GROW, 2010), MINT (Steal This Art Show, 2008, Raw and Fearsome Solo Exhibition, 2010), Kibbee (As above, 2011) Notch8 (InRatio, 2016,  Out of Context, 2017) over the last fifteen years and has self-published over 20 books, magazines, and pamphlets.
