Echoing a stage performance, the exhibition allows the visitors to see the mechanisms up close, which otherwise would be viewed as a perfected campy augmentation of the typical day to day. At first glance from the cheap seats in the back, a theatrical production appears as this glamorous form of reality. However, a production on stage is full of flaws as characters forget lines, costumes are worn, props are chipped and broken but nevertheless the show must go on. Upon closer inspection, the performance reflects a more accurate picture of our everyday rituals because the audience sees it for what it is: a production. The Show Must Go On exhibition contains humorous hand painted and sewn domestic objects that initiate their own personality to take on the role of props and characters. The garments are installed in a way where it can allude to imply action and presence without having a body in it. On opening night, the installation will be becomes activated with two local burlesque dancers bringing a whole new persona to the garments. Performers include Ada Manzhart and Clara Toris.
