The Bakery Atlanta is proud to present the next installment of its photography and lens-based art series, In Focus: Playground, curated by photographer Zoe Valencia.
The playground is more than just a physical space; it’s the crucible of childhood where we first test the waters of social interaction, creativity, and self-expression. It’s where we learn the dynamics of friendship, the thrill of adventure, and the comfort of belonging. As children, the playground is ground zero for our self-esteem, a safe haven away from the judgments and expectations of the adult world. Here, we are free to be our most raw, authentic selves—uninhibited, imaginative, and unguarded. Whether through literal interpretations or abstract representations, each piece in the exhibition will contribute to a collective exploration of the playground as a metaphor for self-discovery, socialization, and the unfiltered expression of our truest selves.
Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, October 10th from 6 to 10 PM. Pay what you can tickets are $5 to $25. This exhibition will be on view to the public during gallery hours and additional programming. Please view calendar.
