DataWorks has been growing and evolving since its founding in 2021. Join us for DataWorks' first meetup bringing together all the communities that intersect through DataWorks in Atlanta - data practitioners, researchers, non-profits, and educators, to name a few. Meet the DataWorks team and make new connections around data!
This is a free event. The night will be largely mix-and-mingle format, with a structured group activity about data starting around 7:30. There will be food and beverages available for purchase (a full meal and drink will cost around $15). We will be in the Bakery's engaging Downtown South Gallery location with a delicious food vendor to-be-announced!

About DataWorks
DataWorks is a unique data services provider at Georgia Tech that recruits people with little technical training from underrepresented groups in computing and trains and employs them in data work. Our mission is to leverage the public university to provide data services that bring a diversity of perspectives to data and develop data skills in partnership with local communities. We provide data cleaning, data entry, annotation for machine learning datasets, and basic data analysis services for a wide range of clients.
DataWorks' operates with seven full-time employees: a Project Manager, a Technical Lead/Data Trainer, and five Data Fellows. The Data Fellows are hired for a one-year term where they work on client projects and receive training in Excel, Critical Data Literacy, Python Fundamentals, and Career Development. After 6-8 months of training, the Data Fellows focus on self-directed projects and finding their next role.
Find out if DataWorks' services could be right for you, and check out our freely available curriculum on our website, and connect with us on LinkedIn.
