The City’s Innards: Grayscale Pipes and Neon Color ~ Painting with Larkin Ford

  • The Supermarket 638 North Highland Avenue Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30306 United States (map)

Join us for another workshop with artist Larkin Ford. You’ll learn to draw water pipes, street construction, exposed sewer lines, and other elements of the city’s innards. You’ll will trace elements from multiple photos to create a hybrid image of pipes and tubes. Then you’ll work to develop that into a black-and-white image with acrylic paints and ballpoint pens, and finally use bright colors to paint the shapes between pipes to create a unique urban composition.

Find us:
1) The Supermarket's main entrance is located at 638 N Highland Ave NE. Our door is in between Big Softie and Collette Bakeshop leading you down a hallway and a staircase.

2) Need less stairs? Have a stroller or use a walking aid? Use our secondary entrance in the middle of Otto's parking lot. The decorative black metal gate leads you through a courtyard. (Note: this door is currently open until 7pm then becomes an exit only.)

3) Need a fully accessible entrance without any stairs? We have a back entrance in a public alleyway behind the building. You can enter the alley off of North Ave NE or from Otto's parking lot. Our entrance is the white door at the SW corner of the building.

Note: While we don't have dedicated parking there are plenty of options in the area. See our map for more info!
