MOTHER Bar, located on the downtown Edgewood strip, is starting a new monthly multi-genre showcase curated by Chris Blank Wilkins of the African Space Collective. Titled Constant Surprises, there will be genre-bending acts and performances according to Wilkins, ”Each performer has a unique kind of sound that blends enumerable genres and influences seamlessly, stylishly, and far beyond the mundane. It may surprise you. From sentimental soul rap to classy jazz punk expect the unexpected." This month’s Constant Surprises will be happening on Wednesday, March 27th, and include performances by Yungmoonling, Laxxp, $uga Rice, SpaceNoiz, and Shinoh. The event lasts from 8 pm to midnight, and has a suggested donation of five dollars with no one being turned away for lack of funds. This venue is 21+.
