The Loudwalkers: Newly formed interdisciplinary collective rooted in: mindful practices and a healing relationship with nature

Chris Gravely: Chris Gravely is an experienced Percussionist of 18+ years. He began his studies with drum-set in the fourth grade under the instruction of John LaMattina. In high school, Chris directed his studies towards solo and classical studies. He has studied classical/contemporary percussion under the instruction of Michael Cebulski, Caleb Harron, Stuart Gerber, and Charles Settle. He has played, and continues to play in many local Orchestras such as; Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra, Dekalb Symphony Orchestra, and the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra. As a freelance percussionist in Atlanta, Chris plays in several different groups/projects; such as LONER, Department 88, Red Waters Quartet, Red Waters Music Collective, etc., in which he plays anything from found objects to timpani. As a solo percussionist, Chris has performed Comedians’ Gallop and Concerto for Percussion and Wind band with the Georgia Perimeter Wind Ensemble, and has also premiered contemporary solo percussion pieces from local Atlanta composers Lowell Fuchs, Michael Standard, and the premier of his own piece entitled LIFE, which he premiered in March of 2017. As a composer, Chris has composed and released his first project entitled LIFE, for marimba, looping pedal, and various percussion instruments. Chris also sound designed, composed, and played as a live musician for Dangerous Women, an immersive horror experience, with The Weird Sisters Theatre project.
Chris strives to be as diverse and versatile as possible in order to put all of his training into every performance with any genre of music. Chris is also an experienced percussion and drum set instructor in the Atlanta area, striving to show others how they too can turn a gift into a way of life.

Caleb Herron: Caleb Herron is an energetic performer of the new and unheard. He was born with an ear for unique sounds and feeds this intrinsic sense through his passion for contemporary music. From this passion, Caleb has commissioned more than twenty new works from composers such as Marc Yeats, Anthony Donofrio, Daniel Swilley, Drew Baker, Carolyn Chen, Drew Dolan, and Michael Vincent Waller. Caleb is a founding member and Artistic Director of Chamber Cartel, a contemporary music group based in Atlanta. Through innovative programming the Cartel has brought several important pieces of contemporary repertoire to Atlanta and has commissioned more than twenty new works since 2012. He has been fortunate enough to study under the direction of Dr. Stuart Gerber at Georgia State University and Dr. Morris Palter at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Caleb teaches percussion at Georgia State University, Perimeter College.
